Sheet, plate, bar, tube and extrusions across the most widely used grades.

Stainless steel isn't a single material.

It's a family of corrosion-resistant alloys, all containing at least 11% chromium, with additions of nickel, molybdenum, titanium, niobium and other elements to suit different jobs.

Choose the right grade and you get the corrosion resistance, formability, weldability and service life your application needs. Choose the wrong one and you don't.

That's why we hold the range we do, and why our staff know what they're talking about.

Grade families we supply

Austenitic (the most common family)

Non-magnetic, easily fabricated and formed. Excellent weldability. Excellent corrosion resistance. Suitable at high and low temperatures.

Typical grades: 1.4301 (304), 1.4307 (304L), 1.4401 (316), 1.4404 (316L), 1.4541 (321), 1.4845 (310).

Used for sinks, architecture, automotive exhausts, cutlery, hollowware, flatware, water tubing, breweries, dairy, food and pharmaceutical production, chemical and petrochemical process plant, heat exchangers and metallurgical plant.

Ferritic

Magnetic. Chromium-based. Immune to chloride stress corrosion cracking. Good formability and ductility.

Typical grades: 1.4016 (430), 1.4509 (441), 1.4512 (409), 1.4113 (434).

Used for automotive trim, washing machine drums, sinks, decoration, automotive exhaust systems and wiper blades.

Martensitic

Magnetic. Hardenable by heat treatment. Moderate corrosion resistance.

Typical grades: 1.4006 (410), 1.4021 (420), 1.4125 (440C).

Used for knife blades, valves, pump and gas turbine parts and general engineering components.

Certification you can rely on

All material supplied in line with the relevant ASTM, ASME or BS EN standards and certified to BS EN 10204 3.1 as standard. Other specifications, certification and testing available on request.
