Round, hexagon, square, flat and angle, in the grades and finishes that machine and fabricate best.

If you machine, forge or fabricate stainless bar, you want three things: the right grade, the right size and a quick turnaround.

That's what our stainless bar service is built to deliver.

Grades held in stock

1.4305 (303)

Free-machining austenitic. Sulphur-added for better chip-breaking and faster machining speeds. The default for precision engineering, repetition turning and CNC work where machinability matters more than weldability.

1.4301/1.4307 (304/304L)

Standard austenitic. Excellent corrosion resistance, formability and weldability. The general-purpose choice for fabrication and structural work.

1.4401/1.4404 (316/316L)

Molybdenum-added austenitic. Better chloride and pitting resistance. The choice for marine, chemical, pharmaceutical and food-grade applications.

Duplex, super duplex and specialist alloys available to order through our Bespoke Materials service.

Forms we hold

  • Round bar in metric and imperial diameters. Bright drawn from 3mm and 1/8" to 25mm and 1". Smooth turned or bright ground from 25mm and 1" to 60mm and 3". Rough turned to 16" in austenitic grades.
  • Hexagon bar from 0.3125" to 2.5" in 303 and 316/316L
  • Square bar in metric sizes from 12x12mm to 50x50mm in 304/304L and 316/316L
  • Flat bar in metric sizes from 20x10mm to 100x25mm in 304/304L and 316/316L
  • Rolled edge flat bar from 12x3mm to 100x12mm in 304/304L and 316/316L, with non-standard widths available on short lead times
  • Angle in metric sizes from 20x20x3mm to 100x100x10mm in 304/304L and 316/316L, with other sizes fabricated on short lead times
